Who we are

The Uganda American Muslim Association (UAMA) seeks to bring together Ugandan Muslims and friends living in the U.S. The Association encourages members to develop their faith, to interpret life from an Islamic perspective, to commit to Allah, and to develop traits of Muslim character and service.

2017 Call for Nominations

The Uganda American Muslim Association is seeking candidates for three positions on the Executive Committee:

  • Vice-Chair
  • Secretary
  • Imam

A successful candidate for Vice-Chair will serve a one-year term (January 2018-December 2018), then automatically moves to be the Chair of UAMA for one-year term (January 2019-December 2019).

A successful candidate for Imam will serve a one-year term (January 2018-December 2018)

A successful candidate for Secretary will serve a three year term (January 2018 – December 2021).

2017 Annual Meeting and Conference

Alhamdulillah, the 2017 9th UAMA Annual Meeting and Conference is going to be held at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland and is being hosted by the DC~MD~VA Chapter. Our theme this year asks, "Why are we here?"
